Hotel Brosundet

The hotel is very nice, has great beds and offers a very extensive breakfast buffet. Overall a great stay.

The Brosundet is the perfect place to relax and recharge, unfortunately we were on a short road trip and unfortunately we couldn’t make use of the amazing facilities at this gorgeous hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has a team of the friendliest staff we’ve ever met, as soon as you walk through the door you’re made to feel at home. We had a room on the water, the view was amazing and so relaxing. To watch the odd boat float by your window and watch the town light up as darkness fell was pretty spectacular. The room itself was perfect. The bed was huge and beyond comfortable. A sofa sits behind two ergonomicly designed lounge chairs, get yourself a coffee from the nespresso machine and just watch the kayaks paddle by! The room has all the bells and whistles and everything’s of the highest quality, even the shoe horn’s a bit special. The shower room was stocked with everything you could wish for and the shower itself was spot on, no pressure problems here! Breakfast was a treat, the restaurant is spacious with amazing views, the breakfast selection leaves you spoilt for choice and the quality of the food is top notch. We ate there in the evening and the food was excellent (as was the service) and reasonably priced. The staff are very professional and really friendly. Marianne is a star turn! We were walking through the restaurant at breakfast a one of the guests dropped their napkin on the table candle, which caught alight. My wife spotted this and (breakfast in one hand) began to extinguish the flames. Marianne seeing this unfold, was there in a flash, (more concerned that my wife was missing her breakfast) and the drama was over without a fuss. The spa looked amazing but unfortunately we were on a tight schedule and didn’t get to use the facilities, but those guests taking a cold plunge in the waters surrounding the hotel seemed invigorated to say the least! This was our second visit to Alesund, the first time we stayed at another hotel (as it was No.1 on Tripadvisor) each night we would walk past the Brosundet and we’d see the huge fire burning in the lobby (unlike the small one at breakfast, this was in a fireplace) and we promised ourselves a stay here, I’m glad we kept our promise. We’ve stayed in Tromso, Bergen, Molde and Alesund on our trips to Norway and we’ve never been unimpressed with any of our hotels, they’ve all been of a high standard but this sets the bar! In all of our travels this hotel is way up there, it is a very special place! Apologies for the long drawn out review but it’s well deserved, I booked this hotel months ago and (due to illness) I had to change the booking dates several times, the hotel and Strawberry were so understanding throughout, I can’t thank them enough!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff accommodated food allergies extremely well. The atmosphere was quite luxe. The spa and dip into the sea were a highlight.

Perfect hotel that feels homely, pleasant and good service and an absolutely lovely breakfast. Clean and neat rooms with a good size, comfortable beds and great showers! Love that they use Sprekenhus in the bathroom. Have stayed here several times and will definitely return!
